Explore the fundamental techniques of hand-building! Stephen will help you determine the best building method (pinching, coils, slabs, carving techniques, etc) for the project you wish to accomplish in this course, be it functional vessels or sculptural objects. The use of tools such the slab roller and extruder and will be demonstrated, and surface finishing with glazes and oxides will also be discussed.

For the first day of class, you will want to bring:

-Clay tools. If you don’t already have some, a link to the recommended items will be sent along with the class info email after signup.

The Lab Fees will supply a starter kit of:

-15lbs of Cone 6, light colored stoneware and use of studio glazes

- Bisque and Glaze firings for all work created during the 4 weeks of the class

- Outside of class Studio access with the following schedule:

Monday- Thursday: 8:30am - 9pm

Friday: 8:30am - 5pm

Saturday & Sunday: 10am - 4pm
