KANSAS CITY MUSEUM PROJECT

GLASS ARTISTS FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY WERE INVITED TO CREATE A CHANDELIER AT THE BELGER GLASS ANNEX FOR PERMANENT INSTALLATION AT THE KANSAS CITY MUSEUM.

The installed chandelier at the Kansas City Museum.

The 2024 installation was the culmination of a Belger Arts – The Museum of Kansas City collaboration involving the design and creation of the glass chandelier and the selection of the following artists for the project:

Gaffers – Tess Healy, Jacqueline Polofka, and Hoseok Youn

Assistants – Yana Artemov, Michael Carson, Claire Coffee, Olivia Dobkin, Jessalyn Mailoa, Kiani Simms

The artists were selected from submissions to a national call.

In addition to creating a glass installation reflective of the mission of the Kansas City Museum and Belger Arts, another critical goal of the project was to assemble a diverse group of glass artists, providing them with a creative, educational environment in which they learn, thrive, and build upon existing skills.

Free glass blowing activities, artist presentations, and viewing of the finished chandelier at the Kansas City Museum took place.
