Nicole Woodard: Digital Debut

June 7, 2024 - July 31, 2024

at Belger Crane Yard Studios
2011 Tracy Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64108

Belger Arts’ June and July Digital Debut artist is Nicole Woodard. Small sculptures and cups demonstrate her signature style of black-and-white self-portraiture. She states, “ [I].. use working memory to illustrate my likeness, leaving the gesture of my hand, from the indentation of my fingertips to the fluidity of my brushwork.” Her practice explores the vulnerabilities of the human condition with a little light humor mixed in.

Woodard earned a Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics from the University of Kansas, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. She exhibits nationally and has completed short-term residencies at the Hambidge Center and Penland School of Crafts. Woodard currently lives in Sheboygan, Wisconsin where she works as the Pottery Technician at the John Michael Kohler Art Center, supporting the residents in the Pottery at Kohler Co.

Woodard's work will be available for purchase online and at the Belger Crane Yard Gallery through July 31, 2024.
