Artist Statement

I make artwork that focuses on portraiture and the human form. My practice explores the vulnerabilities that I have emerged from and the truth of my human condition, without embellishment or apology. Recurring themes such as coming-to-being-and womanhood allow me to reflect on the past and present. I create in the multiple and use working memory to illustrate my likeness, leaving the gesture of my hand, from the indentation of my fingertips to the fluidity of my brushwork.
