Sunday, December 14 - 11:00AM-5:00PM (with half hour for lunch)
This class we will cover everything from how electric kilns work to how to properly load and program a kiln! In the first half of the class we will go over all the information you need to comfortably and effectively use an electric kiln for various kinds of firings, and generally demystify the working of kilns. In the afternoon we will be in the kiln room to practice programming kilns, how to properly load work, and talk about using wadding and kiln wash!
Skill Level: Two (Beginner-Intermediate)
Requirements: Must have some previous ceramic experience

This class we will cover everything from how electric kilns work to how to properly load and program a kiln! In the first half of the class we will go over all the information you need to comfortably and effectively use an electric kiln for various kinds of firings, what happens during firing, and generally demystify the working of kilns. In part two we will be in the kiln room going over furniture, using wadding/washes, loading kilns, and everyone will have a chance to program a kiln on their own! We suggest bringing your lunch with you and we have a fully equipped breakroom where you can store your lunch and eat!

Why we bisque fire and re-bisquing

Using the auto-fire programs
Using ramph/hold programs

Afternoon Session:
Kiln furniture
Kiln wash, wadding, stilts, cookies, etc
Loading a bisque firing using tumble stacking and shelves
Hands on programming a Ramp/Hold Firing
Loading a glaze firing
Hands on programming an auto fire
You will need to bring:
