Will Preman
Bio
Will Preman is a Kansas City based artist. Preman primarily works in ceramic sculpture, drawing, and video. His pieces draw from the details of life that make objects and events special, strange or humorous. These visuals come from all aspects of his daily life: ruminating on memories, daily routine, an active child-like imagination and the wonderment of the human experience.
Preman has a BFA in ceramic art and art history from the Kansas City Art Institute and a MFA in ceramic art from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. He has been awarded residencies and programs at Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, Sylvia J. Smith’ 73 Artist-In-Residence at Dickinson College, Charlotte Street Foundation Urban Culture Project in Kansas City, The International Ceramics Studio in Kecskemet, Hungary, and Pilchuck Glass School in Washington State.
Preman is the Owner/Designer/Maker behind Yum Yum Ceramics, an arts centered business crafting unique terracotta planters. Yum Yum Ceramics is a stockist at these establishments: Little Shop of Soil (Brooklyn, NY), The Victorian Atlanta (Atlanta, GA) Plant Shop Chicago (Chicago, IL) Plant Shop Evanston (Evanston, IL) GROW Charlotte (Charlotte, NC) Staghorn Mercantile (Beaverton, WA) Niche (Boston, MA) Grow Off Sis (Los Angeles, CA) and West Bottoms Plant Co (Kansas City, MO).
