Welcome members of the annual Missouri Art Educators Association conference
in Kansas City, April 2019!

We are excited that you’ll be in our neck of the woods April 12 and 13th. As a way of kicking off the conference, we have partnered up with MAEA for a pre-conference Pottery Making Event at our studio!

On Thursday, April 11 from 1pm to 3pm, we will host a workshop for those interested in learning how to throw on the pottery wheel. Demonstrations and hands-on time will be led by our Red Star Residents, a group of professional clay artists who are selected from a pool of applicants from across the country to participate in our Artist in Residence program.

During the two hour workshop, instructors will give a demonstration and then you’ll be able to practice at a pottery wheel of your own. Near the end of the workshop, you’ll have a chance to add some underglaze color. We’ll then fire the pieces for later pick up. If you’d like, you can have your pieces shipped to you after they are fired.

Seating is limited, so enroll today to secure your spot!

The workshop takes place at the Belger Arts Center at
2100 Walnut Street
, KCMO, 64108
