Bio

Born 1980, Wheatridge Colorado.

Lives and works—currently a Registrar, formerly an Art teacher and Letter Carrier—in Kansas City, MO.

Background in printmaking (etching and lithography) and collaborative studio practices, collaborations have included co-management of an artist-run gallery and print shop (Wonder Fair Gallery, Lawrence KS); co-direction of an invitation-based publishing group (Field Trip Publishing, Kansas City MO); and co-founding a weekly group for Sunday painters (Kansas City Plein Air Coterie, Kansas City MO). Paused drawing for ceramics instead, in 2022.

artist statement

When Drawing dried up for me maybe 18 months ago I began throwing and decorating Ceramics instead. However the Ceramics is still informed by Drawing, just as the Drawing was informed by Print, which itself dried up for me maybe 8 years ago. It has all had the character of a procession meandering in the direction of a more Joyful afternoon, of which a studio practice is only one part.
