artist statement

My work with glass has always been influenced by a love of the process and the material itself. From the optical qualities to color transparency to versatility of form, glass is a material unlike any other. Whether I’m working in realism or abstract, each sculpture is an ode to my home, Hawai’i, and the beauty of the world around us. I strive to replicate colors from the sky and the optical illusions of water, leaving the viewer with the same feeling you get from experiencing these phenomena first hand.
