Artist Statement

My body of work is informed by the tension between aspects of my identity and my interactions  with other people and the environment. This piece is from a series of stemwares that explores  the color pink and the concept of femininity. I am intrigued by the goblet form that resembles  a delicate figure that people may generally describe as feminine. In this series, I fired small  flower-like glass inclusions in the kiln and brought them up in the hotshop to incorporate them in  Venetian goblet forms.
