Join us for an introduction to glassblowing!
Glass 1 introduces basic glassblowing tools and equipment. Students learn how to gather molten glass from the furnace, how to add a bubble to the glass, and how to shape the glass using traditional tools and techniques. Once a student completes Glass 1 they are eligible to advance to Glass 2.
A bit about what to expect:
The goal of Glass 1 is to start students on the path to becoming glassblowers.
Glass 1 focuses on the learning process over the finished products.
Glassblowing is a physical art form that requires standing and lifting while working close to hot equipment.
Glass 1 is offered in two formats:
One night a week for four weeks, or in an intensive two-day weekend workshop*. No prior experience needed.
*There will be an hour break for lunch during the weekend class. Lunch is not provided.
