Adams Puryear

Bio

Adams Puryear explores the Internet’s convoluted information and how it can be represented. Experimenting with alternate physical translations of the Internet’s anti-filter, Adams continues to return to the functional ceramic vessel to create historically sedimented sculpture contrasting contemporary elements. Adams Puryear has been working with sculpture and video for more than fifteen years. Currently living in Kansas City, MO, he received a BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art in 2004 and an MFA from Indiana University in 2012. Puryear's work has been featured in and around New York City, nationally, and internationally at various galleries and museums. He is also the founder of FPOAFM Nomadic Studios, a project-driven experimental art/craft collective engaged in functional art discourse.
