Bio
Lilly Powell received her BFA from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, and completed Post Baccalaureate studies at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, Indiana. Powell is currently an Artist in Residence at Belger Crane Yard Studios in Kansas City, Missouri
Artist Statement
Powell’s most recent work explores habit and ritual in intimate space. Providing a sense of place by utilizing surfaces commonly seen and regularly touched, she aims to accumulate a nexus of objects and their associations. By making a permanent record of what is considered the mundane, Powell helps the overlooked to become elevated.
