Lauryl Sidwell: Digital Debut

Digital Debut artist, Lauryl Sidwell, is based in Kansas City. Sidwell’s interest in art was catalyzed by seeing contemporary stained glass. She began as a self-taught artist eventually taking a class at the Penland School of Craft. She has since expanded her knowledge of glass and works at Monarch Glass Studio.
For Sidwell the perceived limitations of stained glass as medium provides opportunities to, “[take] modern inspirations into and against medieval tradition[.] I work to create art that surprises, provokes, and challenges the limits and ideas of stained glass I hold.”
Sidwell’s work will be on display at Belger Crane Yard Gallery and available for purchase in person and online through November 30, 2024.
