Jessica Gorecki

Bio

Jessica Gorecki is a glass artist from central Nebraska, currently studying furnace glass art at University of Nebraska at Kearney. She also works at UNK as a Chemistry Stockroom Manager. She first dabbled in furnace glassblowing 9 years ago while earning her BGS at UNK, and since January 2023 has been blowing and sculpting hot glass again. She is inspired by science, nature, and animation, and loves to create exuberantly colored works that transport the viewer for just a second to a more fantastical world.

Artist Statement

Jessica Gorecki is a 2nd year glass art student in central Nebraska. Just developing her voice and style, she is especially drawn to creating works that bring fictional characters to life, whether the characters come from animation, science fiction, or her own imagination. Having experienced and observed some very deep emotional lows, she prefers to create glass art that is cheerful and tongue-in-cheek, adding a spark of joy to the viewer’s day. Jessica’s art has been exhibited in two UNK art shows, including a Faculty Select Exhibition 2024.
