Take your kiln-glass practice to the next level by mastering the art of the multi-fire process. In this dynamic, hands-on workshop, you won’t just melt glass once and call it a day—you will learn how to treat glass as a raw material that can be engineered, deconstructed, and reimagined.
Students will begin by creating custom patterned "design sheets" using glass powders, frits, and stringers. After the first kiln firing, the real magic happens: we will intentionally cut, slice, and arrange these custom patterns into entirely new, complex compositions for a second firing. Finally, you’ll take your piece to the cold shop to grind, shape, and polish the edges, transforming your work from a simple kiln-melt into a sophisticated, professional-grade piece of art.
Some glass cutting experience recommended, but adventurous beginners are welcome!
