Dan Ohm

Bio

Dan Ohm is a ceramics artist living and working in Kansas City, Missouri. Focusing on ceramics, Dan is also accomplished musician. Beginning the love affair with clay by skipping class in high school to go to the ceramics room, he would years later find a kick wheel at a neighborhood garage sale and continue the obsession in improvised home studios.

Completely self taught and working thus far in a bubble, Dan has been developing his work independent of fine art institutions. Ohm’s work is as much functional as it is a means of communicating his own chaotic energy. The animated nature of his vessels convey a sporadic force that find definition through their innate functionality. Incorporating excess elements of previous works, Dan is able to create a breathing and growing body of work that flux within their own twists and turns.
