Sprig molds are a great way to add repeatable surface decoration and bring your pieces to life! Learn how to plan and sculpt objects to use for molds, make molds from found objects, and how to apply them (including colored clay!) so that they are well attached and seamless without smudges and unwanted blending.

Skill Level: Two (Beginner-Intermediate)
Requirements: Having completed Introduction to Handbuilding or similar experience

Week 1: What are sprigs? Sculpting pieces and finding objects to make molds from
Week 2: How to create spring molds with clay
Week 3: Using your sprig molds with same colored clay, attachment methods
Week 4: Using your sprig molds for different colored clay
Included with class:
15lbs cone 6 clay
(small) amounts of colored clay
Firings of all work made during the course
Studio access outside of class time during the following hours:
Monday-Thursday 9:00AM-9:00PM, Friday-Sunday 10:00AM-6:00PM
