Artist Statement

“Getting outside is good for the soul.”

I am not sure who to credit for that quote, but I couldn’t agree with it any more than I do! My ceramic creations are my attempt to bring the outside in. Living with objects that pay tribute to the natural world reminds me to slow down, helps to connect me with nature, and brings me peace. I want to offer those qualities to others living in our chaotic, fast-paced world. The willingness of clay to be transformed in both form and texture makes it an excellent medium to explore natural combinations. Tapping into nature’s healing and beauty keeps me creating.
