Lilli Powell

Bio

Lilli Powell was born in Northeast Ohio, raised in the Great Lakes region of the US. She received her BFA from Kent State University, and got her Post Baccalaureate at Indiana University Southeast. Powell currently resides in KCMO and is the Studio Manager/Residency Coordinator at BCYS.

Artist Statement

Powell loves using contrast when designing forms; pairing crisp silhouettes with a pinched texture, and leaving areas of bare clay next to a glossy glazed surface. Her pots are handbuilt, often utilizing press molds.
