Jackie Polofka

BIo

Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, Jackie Polofka lives full time on Kelleys Island, a small island in Lake Erie. There she has a seasonal glass studio, Double Dipped Studios. Polofka focuses on simple clean designs that allow her to pursue her love for technical glass blowing. Recently, she was chosen to work with a team of 8 other glass artists in partnership with Belger Arts and the Kansas City Museum. Together they helped create and install a beautiful chandelier at the Kansas City Museum. She has also worked at The Corning Museum of Glass, The Chrysler Museum of Art, and STARworks. Polofka graduated with her BFA from Bowling Green State University in 2016.

Artist Statement

I simply love blowing glass. I find as much excitement in the process of making as I do in my final pieces. I am currently focused on creating functional and sculptural products that are inspired by my surroundings and love for glass. I want people to experience the joy of glass through my objects. I hope to evoke this through simple clean designs that let the glass speak for itself.
