Artist Statement

I enjoy working in a variety of mediums that mostly include illustration and ceramics, often blending the two through surface design. My background in painting and illustration informs how I approach ceramic forms, allowing me to play with pattern and motif. Much of my inspiration comes from the color palettes, forms, and decorative details of the everyday objects that filled my grandparents’ Midwestern homes.

Living in a century-old Craftsman house for the past five has also shaped my work, grounding my work in a sense of place. My artwork feels like extensions of my home  — pieces that carry forward its history while finding new life in daily rituals and use.
