Bio

Art has been a source of healing and joy since I was young, and since high school, it has taken the form of ceramics. I volunteer at the KC Clay Guild, which is an amazing community where I have found lots of great friendships and belonging. I love spending my evenings there experimenting with new techniques and forms. I graduated from UMKC with a BS in Biology, BA in Chemistry, and a minor in Spanish in 2022. I’m a current third-year medical student at KU.

Artist Statement

I try to create my art simply for the enjoyment of the process. Making pottery is where I can focus on myself and what makes me happy. I love how clay intersects so many different art forms with endless possibilities. Ceramics has taught me to be patient and persistent, and also how to quickly move on from failures. It is a very humbling experience and has taught me to live with things outside of my control. I hope my love of art comes through my work.
