Artist Statement

My functional work is made out of wheel-thrown stoneware forms. These forms create a variety of objects which serve to enhance the rituals of daily life, such as storing keepsakes, drinking tea, or eating with family. My pieces take on a wide variety of forms and glazes. Each piece explores the relationships between shape and surface. My inspiration draws from the asymmetrical balance of nature, the utility of modernism, and the constant movement of urban environments.
