Second Saturdays with Miss Isabelle: Diorama Bookends

  • Belger Arts 2011 Tracy Avenue Kansas City, MO, 64108 United States (map)

The second Saturday of every month is dedicated to young artists’ (Ages 7-12) talents in our classroom! Every month is a unique and exciting ceramic project designed to teach kids about art, develop creative problem-solving skills, and learn to express themselves in a fun and supportive environment. There are two sessions, one from 11:00AM-2:00PM and another from 2:30PM-5:30PM. You can sign up for one or both sessions. During the break, an instructor will be present to oversee lunchtime (kids bring their own lunches).

Diorama Bookends

Students will create diorama bookends inspired by their favorite book complete with small figurines and other movable components. Participants will actively discuss their book choices and share ideas before creating their pieces through slab, coil, and sculpture methods. Each will create a pair of bookends and characters or other items that exist within the shadowbox to represent their story.
