Cindy Bass

Bio

I worked for over 30 years as a graphic artist in the decorated apparel industry. I had a great time designing art for companies/organizations including Harley-Davidson, The National Part Service, Universal Studios, Vail and Aspen Resorts, and the US Pro Tour Cycling Challenge. As much as I love graphic art, I found that I loved the colors and textures of the fabrics I was designing art for. Computer art is great, but I really enjoy working on the kinds of projects I can wrap my hands around.

Retirement has led me in different directions. I rediscovered my interest in ceramics, sculpture, and painting as well as different types of weaving. Every piece I do leaves me with a series of ‘what ifs’ and new ideas. I’m a hiker, kayaker, biker, skier, and fisher gal, so I spend a lot of time outdoors and draw much of my design inspiration from nature.

Artist Statement

As a life-long artist, my work is always evolving, but there is common theme that is reflected across all the mediums I choose. This commonality is rooted in my deep love and respect for nature and the plants, animals, and cultures that flow from it. I feel that art and the artist should draw the viewer into the work and share that vision.
