{"title":"Erica Iman","description":"\u003ch2\u003eBio\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"\"\u003eErica Iman received her BFA in Ceramics and BSE in Art from the University of Missouri Columbia in 2005 and obtained her MFA in Ceramics from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2012. Between earning her degrees she served 2 years in the \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/mongolia.peacecorps.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eU.S. Peace Corps\u003c\/a\u003e on the Eastern Steppe of Mongolia teaching English and Gardening while exploring the Gobi desert and Altai Mountains.  In 2007, she was a selected participant in the \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/www.japan-net.ne.jp\/~iwcat\/iwcat.htm\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eInternational Workshop for Ceramic Arts in Tokoname, (IWCAT)\u003c\/a\u003e Japan program, spending the summer studying contemporary and ancient Japanese pottery and culture.   \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"\"\u003eErica works from her studio in Kansas City and is a founding member of the \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/www.kcurbanpotters.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eKC Urban Potters\u003c\/a\u003e and an Artist Inc. facilitator.  She has taught in various schools and art centers, was awarded second place in the \u003cem\u003eSan Angelo National Ceramic Competition\u003c\/em\u003e with the work being purchased by the \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/www.samfa.org\/ceramics\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eSan Angelo Museum of Fine Art\u003c\/a\u003e, and received an honorable mention in the \u003cem\u003e10th International Ceramics Competition\u003c\/em\u003e, Mino, Japan.  Erica participated in Amsterdam-based Steinbeisser’s Experimental Gastronomy dinner in San Francisco and will be part of an upcoming show at Direktorenhaus Art Museum in Berlin.\u003c\/p\u003e","products":[],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0585\/7784\/6471\/collections\/1000005804.jpg?v=1755121690","url":"https:\/\/belgerarts.org\/collections\/erica-iman.oembed","provider":"Belger Arts","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
